I see, thank you. I am trying not to be like the people I criticise, people whose position on any controversy is decided in advance based on identity or ideological alignment. But I realise that escaping one's prejudices is hard, which is why I now try not to think of myself as a man of the left. However, when I fill out one of those questionnaires that ask you your views on topics to determine your ideological identity, I always come up as centre-left. In any case, I believe in immanent criticism, critiquing a position by turning its arguments against each other, similar to deconstruction with a stronger polemical edge to it
